I got stung by a bee today, summer's on the way.

Really looking forward to it, hope it's a great one.

    The way I look at it;

I'm getting the right amount of sleep every night.
I'm playing with my two little lads all day.
I'm getting through all the books I had neglected for ages.
I'm seeing my grandparents every day (outside in their back garden, we sit in the sun and talk more than we've managed in so long)

I have no money coming in but I'm happy.

I hope I can prioritise a lot of these good things when things go back to normal and I don't get sucked fully back onto the threadmill, there's a healthy balance to be aimed for

Ahh who cares, this whole year can **** itself already. What’s the joy in summer when you are stuck at home?

Another eight months to run, I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. I threw mine on the lounger instead and sat out in the garden. Bliss.

The bee should have been observing social distancing.

This time of year the worker bee's life span is about 8 to 10 weeks and yes the bee will die after losing its sting.

It is years since I got stung, don't care for it much.

The Bee is dead so summer too has fled, so fitting too for seasons that sojourn and sizzle into nothingnes. And thus it always was, oh what a solemn mess.

There was a massive wasp in the house today. I thought it was very early to see one. I generally see them in August and September. I'm not too gone on summer time. I'm more an autumn/winter person.

That is a big plus in the lockdown.
People become people again, not going around in an exhausted daze.

That distinctive smell of burning charcoal was wafting around the estate yesterday

If you could bottle that you would never have to buy vinegar again.

Saw my first swallow today. That just lifts it no end for me. Running low on charcoal after 2 bbqs this week, normally get it in West meath.
Where's the best Irish site to buy it anyone know?

It's actually so great to see the year pick up so much. It's like when we are waiting for good news the sun decides to give it to us personally.

Make the most of it folks, you've got everyone's permission.
