Water ingress mk2 Skoda Octavia

    Hi
Need some advice regarding water seeping into my car. I have Skoda Octavia mk2 (10 reg) and water seems to be leaking in the passenger footwell and the wheel well in the boot.

In the front the passenger foot well carpet is wet but I cant seem to figure out where the water is coming from. I removed the plastic around the front wipers and checked the drain at the bottom of the windscreen and that was clear and I also checked around the pollen filter inside the car but that area looked dry.

In the boot I noticed water seems to drip down around the area of the boot latch and into the wheel well from there. The boot lip seal is also wet after it rains. Ill try to attach some pics I took. I checked the wiper which looks dry. I noticed condensation forming at the front of the wheel wheel too.

Anyone come across this before and point me in the direction of possible solutions?

Pretty sure there are well documented issues with boot leaks on them.

Thanks Colm. I had seen details that the boot seal and wiper are common causes of the leak, so looks like i have to get a new seal.
Any thoughts on the leak in the front footwell which concerns me more?

Check the pollen filter intake for build up of leaves and stuff. This is a common enough thing on older VW stuff. Not sure if it’s the same craic on the Octavia.

For the boot leak, the boot lock can move slightly meaning no seal. We had water in the boot of ours and the cure was to move the lock slightly on the boot.

It took about 2 minutes to fix. No new seal was needed

Edit - Now that I think about it, it was the striker that was moved slightly towards the front of the car, rather than moving the lock.
