    Doom or Doom Eternal?

If you don't have broadband how do you plan getting them? Most 'physical' copies of games now are just boxes with codes or a fraction of the game-data on a disc. It's common enough for new games to be 50-100+ GB or beyond. Some older games you would still get on DVD off Amazon or whatever.

Generally, the Bioshock collection is cheap enough and an excellent trilogy of games that'll offer plenty mileage. Titanfall 2 has a brief but excellent campaign. Doom or Doom eternal are solid choices.

The Call of Duty games generally have good campaigns and can be gotten for little on some websites. Black Ops, Black Ops 2, Infinite Warfare, COD4 remastered, Advanced Warfare, etc. New Modern Warfare is decent too but again, it's a 200GB download so without broadband, no way to get it.

If you like FPS-RPG style games, Fallout 4 or The Outer Worlds are excellent. Game from a good few years ago as well called Singularity is excellent, sort of Bioshock Jnr.

One of my personal favorites recently was Ion Fury, an old-school shooter built on the build engine (as used in Duke Nukem 3D), exceptional game. If broadband's an issue, that's literally only about 90MB!

Other misc games - Bulletstorm, Shadow Warrior, Halo 1: Remaster + Halo Reach (both now on PC), Metro games, Battlefield campaigns, Black Mesa (remake of Half Life), Far Cry 5, Borderlands, Dying Light, Dead Island.

The Bioshock series? Good games. Or Metro series?

Great post by Homelander. A few not mentioned thus far that are worth a look imo, would be the recent version of Prey, the Dishonored games (though not strictly shooters), and Dusk if you want something more retro.

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

How shooter does the S need to be here?

Cos my first thoughts would be to recommend something like the Dishonoured games, or recent Deus Ex remakes. Both variations on straight out shooting, with lots of stealth, dialogue and "play your way" options. Bioshock are a other good clutch of games, albeit more linear shooters.

Thanks Homelander for a very detailed post and to everyone else who recommended a game ive got plenty to choose from now.i havent heard of black mesa before so if its half as good as half life was i think ill give it a go.
I did try Halo Reach as i was a big fan of the orginal Halo but i just didnt like how the controls felt just didnt didnt seem to move right so i got a refund on it.After that i thought it would be smarter to ask for a few ideas rather than spend another few days downloading a game to find out it wasnt great.

Insurgency 2014 and play Checkpoint in single player with or without bots on your team.

No Story its basically old school terrorist hunt.
