    Rough guide per animal I believe is

    Dairy cow = 85N
    Suckler cow / Bulls / 2+ year olds = 65N
    Calf <1 yr = 23N-ish
    1-2 year old = 46N-ish

    Add them all up and divide by your hectares

    So if you've 100 dairy cows, 1 bull, 60 calves on 60 hectares;

    (100*85 + 1*65 + 60*23)/(60 hectares) = 203 N per hectare

    Does artificial N get added to that 170 figure?

    I don't believe so. A separate artificial N threshold/guide comes from the dept once you're in derogation

    Calf <1 - 24
    1-2 years 57.

    If you are with the ICBF you can look it up they do it monthly for your herd. They also have your projected yearly total. As you get to the.last 2-3 months you just do your own projections and export any slurry you need to
