Bathroom smell

    Hi,
got a weird smell in the bathroom, me and my partner both described it differently but eggy gassy sewer smell anyway, a few months back that kept coming and going , cudent figure it out, than it dawned on me to check the shore in my garden and it was full to the top with similar smell so bingo, I checked nexed door and they where blocked too but the next house wasn't, whatever way the pipes work. We said we'd ring Dyno rod but as luck would have it Dyno rod was down the road from us the next day ( didn't see what house ) and the day after my shore was clear. Fast forward a couple months and the Smell is back again so checked shore straight away and it's just under half full.

So do I get Dyno rod meyself , will I knock into next door again or what if the problem isent me it's down the road how do I find out etc or to Dyno rod find that out for me etc etc,

Also the smell is mild mostly, but when the heating is on the smell gets worse in the bathroom, just the heat just bring out the smell more? Smell is only in bathroom nowhere else.

Bathroom is down stairs and the shore is only a few foot away so smell doesn't have far to travel.

Terrible timing with this virus etc but it has to be fixed,

Any suggestions or will I just ring Dyno rod and take it from there, or is there another company anybody can recommend etc thanks v much for and help / info,. To all that even read this , Hope all of you and yours are safe and healthy. Cheers

check your toilet has water in it all the time if it drops low gases can get in.

Most likely its coming from the shower trap or sink though. Sink Trap dries out and the gas comes right up.

Many shower traps have no s trap installed or badly fitted shallow ones, all allow gases come up.

Fill with all with water and see if smell disappears you have your culprit.

Oh yeah that reminded me , the toilet did start to gurrgle and the water at the bottom wasn't as full as it usually was that's what made me check the shore last time, toilet hasn't gurrgeled yet this time,

Yes when we have a shower or give our child a bath the smell goes when we drain the bath.

Bathroom was only refited last year so I presume all fittings etc are new and working as they should,

About the shore that's not empty though?

When the drains back up, it can fill up the 'air break', so then any flow in the drain, sucks the water from your waste traps.
