GoMo APN

Switched to GoMo a few months ago and mobile data APN was set as data.mymeteor.ie . Data (4g/3g/E) has been brutal from the start. I’ve just done a network reset and mobile data APN is down as internet.ie.upcmobile.com & seems to be working fine for once. Is this right?
I was previously with VM and am using an iPhone 8.

No it's wrong and might result in extra charges as that's a VM access point that is outside of Gomo's network server and might be considered as roaming which is not included while at home (in Ireland). It may be a specific Apple issue that allows devices use different APNs but in general APNs are network specific to the SIM and other network APNs won't work at all.

AFAIK there are 2 APN settings in iPhones, one for phone data and the other for hotspot. The APN is the same but must be entered in each field.

The other APN to try is...
    data.myeirmobile.ie

IMO don't take a chance with that UPC APN as it might affect the bill with extra charges.
