Auto url linking for m.boards

Hi

A feature that would be very handy esp on the mobile site when copying and pasting a url would be an automatic inserting of the [url][/url] code. It's a fiddly thing inserting them when on the phone. Is there a way that www. and http:// can be recognised automatically?

Thanks for your suggestion. It's interesting that typing www.google.com doesn't seem to work when you click on the link on mobile, but is fine on desktop (even if the poster posted on the mobile site). Can I ask how you're going through the process of copying and pasting a link? When I'm trying here, it takes the https:// and www. automatically, though I can see how issues arise when typing a link out manually.

I use chrome and just hold the link so the copy option appears and tap and paste that

Okay that works without the www.

Same, so if www is problem, why.

This is happening when simply copying and pasting the link from a browser into the Boards post message box on the Touch site?

What device and browser are you using?

This is what I get when I copy and paste (Galaxy S10, Chrome)

(for my own reference as much as anything)

Edit: The first Google link 404s on touch, but works fine on desktop

Its an old Chrome 54.0.2840,68 which is 2016 vintage on an old Android - 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which may be the issue. I'll buy a new phone one day

I see! That might be it. I'll have to see if we can replicate it and if we might be able to dedicate time to a fix. I hope you can understand that at the moment we are only able to assign time to priority items.
