Does anyone have any ideas or know anyone renting any one bed flat or anything at all really with a bed a shower and a cooker for short to medium term renting?

I'm a front line healthcare worker who has to move out of my home while COVID19 is on the loose to prevent my family getting ill, I've checked daft etc but none of them are open to anything less than a year lease. Ideally as cheap as possible.

I'd be looking to move in around May 1st.

Any help/ideas/advice anyone has to offer I'd really appreciate it :(

Daft announced a few days ago that they are looking to make it easier for healthcare workers to do this and would be adding a section to their website asap.

I definitely saw a Twitter some business man who was trying to arrange this in Cork but can't for the life of me remember who it was.

I'd get in touch with the hse, I'm sure you're not the only one with this issue in Limerick and they might have a solution.

    Either way, best of luck

Try twitter. It’s friendly and who knows maybe someone has an empty flat etc.

Also, would you speak to LIT/MIC/UL to see if they’d offer you a dorm?

I've tried to push this up the local management pole with the HSE. So far not a whole lot bar a few "emmmmmmmmm"s, which is handy :) and there is no national approach for this problem, I checked in with HSELive Health professional.

I've actually wrote to UL and MIC just now to see if theres anything they can offer for even a shorter space of time to buy me a bit of a gap while I find something.

    Cheers for the ideas lads!

Spoke with a landlord this evening who said, and I quote, "Sorry but sure I'd never get the virus out of the house then if you got it. No one would rent it when you're gone". It's going to be a long road for this leper to find a shed to kip in :(:D

I know that UL GEM have/Had a lot of their student medics housed over in the old punches hotel.

It may well be worth a shout to them to see what they are currently doing with their student accommodation?

Given the HSE advice is for frontline not to be sharing accommodation during this if at all possible, one would hope they planned a contingency.

Sorry for getting back late lads I'm up the walls  :o

Thanks for the help everyone, I really do appreciate it. You have no idea how stressful this has been but I think I'm sorted (think being the operative term).

Bumping this as I'm back in same position I was 12 months ago. Anyone know of anything reasonably priced for rent for a single occupancy? Willing to take a 12 month lease this time.

Don't fancy sharing because of being a healthcare worker, I really don't want to risk exposing others to COVID :(

    Any help appreciated!
