Apologies if this forum isn't the right place, I thought it fit the best of the forums I could see.

So, my mother wants to get a tablet as the one they have at the moment (Apple ipad 2) is "a crappy apple one that's about 10 years old". I know next to nothing about tablets, just some cursory investigation online (which basically says the Apple iPad Pro 11 is the best on the market, but unfortunately out of their price range).

Budget: ~€300. Can go up a bit if it's worth it.

Intended use: General internet use, skype calling kids, videos, pornhub etc. Users are going to be ~70 y/o so nothing mad.

Mobility: They're old so lighter is better, but overall not a massive issue. Won't be bringing it many places.

    Warranty: Not overly important.

What Operating System do you use? They have an Apple at the moment, but don't really like it so preferably something else. However, Apple seem to be the best game in town at the moment so I (despite feeling dirty doing so) can change their mind on this one if required.

the 2019 ipad 10.2 inch is the best value tablet from the point of view of cpu power / smoothness.

they are also already familiar with apple even if they are not a big fan. android is fine but there would be a learning curve for them with some things.

    probably cheapest here

    https://www.eglobalcentral.eu/apple-ipad-10-2-2019-32gb-wifi-space-gray-1.html

assume 10 to 14 days delivery. I've used that site several times with no issues but some others have had delays.

I have had a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (7 inches) for three years now and quite happy with it.
