    Hello all,

Just looking to see what sounds people are finding the best for calling foxes.

Rabbits in distress or the foxes mating shout for example?

    Thanks now.

I went out foxing one night with an experienced hunter, and oh my god, his calls sounded like someone being raped:eek:

Some foxes are drawn in by plastic rustling. particularly urban/suburban

i use a variety of calls from the foxblaster, to the tenterfield, to the american style coyote calls, but the one i'm using at the minute is the stainless steel whistle by fox call UK their something else called 2 foxes on the first night i used it shot one,

Hunter, is this the one you are using ?

I have tried the stainless one but found it very hard t get a good sound from it, so I switched to the "Blaze" which is a plastic version of the stainless one and I find it very good on a windy night.

For close work I use the "original" and this

Brilliant!! and I think that it just appeals to the foxes curiosity.

no its a barrel kind of fox call but its made from stainless steel very easy to use can be used either side, its marketed by fox call uk on eBay.

I use a mini colibri electronic call and the Nordic pro plain pain mouth blown call the old fashioned rabbit distress works well in most places but in certain spots they will not come to a rabbit but come thundering in to a hare distress or the kitten distress on more than a few occasions.
Then I’ve witnessed some foxes completely ignore all calls it just depends if there hungry or not I guess
