Some Games have started to run slow

    Hi there,


    not great with tech , bear with me



    Being at home a lot more I have begun playing old classic games that I used to run on my 486 and first pentiums , Blade runner , Tie fighter , Full throttle , Arma 1 , that kind of vintage .


    Picked them up on steam and GOG


    They ran fine but as of a few days ago tie fighter and full throttle just chug along as if the laptop ( about 6 years old and capable of playing half life 2 ) just cant handle it , what could have happened there , any ideas ? could it be a power managment issue ?
