    Hi All,
I hope some1 can help with a problem we as a group have in our factory.
We (the group) have not worked this week and wont be working next week either as the only way we can do our work is in the factory and we're not deemed essential to the pandemic. Other groups within the factory are able to work from home and hence can be paid (which noone in our group has any problem with). We were told we have 3 options to pick and mix so to speak as regards payment:
    1* Unpaid leave.
2* Take holidays pay for the 2 weeks.
3* Get paid for 79 hours but then work this off out side of the regular 8-4.30.

We as a group nominated 1 person to email the company to look for answers regarding social welfare payments, ie. Can we be issued with a letter stating temporary layoff. We're now into our 5th day since the email was sent and all we've received is a text saying that once the company have an update for us then they will be in contact.
Can we just apply for the social without a letter from our employer? It's hard to get a specific answer to our question online.
Apologies for the long winded post.
    Thanks.
