Summer work expected to cease, am I eligible for Covid welfare payment?

Hi, I'm looking into potential solutions for a problem that will begin at the end of May, if this pandemic carries on into May/June as expected.

I've held the same summer employment since 2015 with one of the bigger summer camps in Ireland. As a student, it has been crucial. I typically covered my accommodation for the following year with this job.

I am expecting to receive confirmation that the summer camp will not run this summer and therefore will not have work. I'm wondering how this situation falls into the Covid payment schemes regulations? If I received a letter from the company to clarify that I was employed and will indeed lost work, will I eligible for support this summer?

I am registered as self employed and would work for this company as a contractor and would not be one of their employees as such. That being said, they were my only source of income and work. It was a full time job during the summer and once college resumed every year, I stopped working completely.

If you lose your summer job due to covid 19 I expect you'd be entitled. Wait and see. Although everything may be normal by then.

At the moment covid payment is only paying for 12 weeks so it's hard to say, may be another payment altogether by then even

Ah I see, I wasn't aware it was a 12 week payment. Yes hopefully all will be good in 12 weeks. Thanks and stay safe.
