Hi. Managed to grab a bargain in a reconditioned Pro. 3 that I plan to give to on3 of my kids for college. However.. it didn’t come with a stylus.

I don’t really know anything about these Tablets etc and so don’t know what to buy to make the unit complete. Do I have to buy an official pen or do they all do the same thing??

I see I can pick up something that will work on EBay for £20 etc but don’t know if it worth it as against €85 from a retailer locally.

Any advice on what to get would be appreciated

    Many thanks

The complete Office suite works on it, or you can install something like OpenOffice (Free and can open/save DOCX/XLSX format files - https://www.openoffice.org/). It also has an On Screen Keyboard (go search for OSK.EXE in the Windows folder & sub-folders) so you can one finger peck to your hearts content...

I worked in an office where everyone had surface pros with styluses. Most people didn't use the stylus at all. I personally found it useful for sketching things out and having a digital record at the end, both individually and over Skype.

They wouldn't typically be used for taking text notes. As mentioned, a keyboard is better. The keyboard/cover is v useful.
