Feeder Problems

    Hi Lads

    I've had a feeder out all winter with no visitors. Its big enough site with a lot of lawn and Ive the feeder near the house so we can see the ( lack of ) activity.

    When the outside was still a building site and the grass over grown etc there were all sort flying around.

    Any ideas how to attract them in again?

    Make sure the feeder is near trees or bushes is the first rule anyway - the further out in the open it is the less likely it is to be used.

    After that, peanuts and sunflower seeds have very broad appeal - what are you putting out?

    At this time of year numbers of garden birds are starting to dip but you should still get local breeding pairs onto your feeders!

    Position the feeder in an attractive, safe location, preferably near a brush pile, hedge, or another type of shelter so birds can feel secure when visiting.
