Would be interested to hear from people who have made claims or have had claims made against them. Or at a pinch 2nd hand accounts.
Especially in regard to losing NCB (which means a higher premium anyways 😘) ,higher premiums and shopping around insurers after a claim.
I'll kick off with a cousin who's car went on fire. Car was a write off. Book value 1k. Fire brigade 700.
    The insurance company offered 1700
But told the cousin his premium would rise and the rise itself over 3 or 5 years?? Can't remember which.... would be a good bit more than the 1700 claimed.
He decided to pay himself. And leave his premium the same. He has 10+ yrs NCB. Beggars the question /whole point of insurance?

Imagine if you hit someone and caused them horrendous personal injuries. The damages could run into millions.

    That's what insurance is for.
