Giving up/getting banned foreign license

I have a small potential to get banned for a few months and I have a foreign license. How does that work? Everywhere I read, I hear different things.

    1. Virtual Irish license will be banned and if I ever exchange it to an Irish one, I will be immediately banned even if it's done many years later.
    2. My foreign license will be banned forever.
    3. I will be asked to hand in my foreign license which is the property of another government/country. (it says on the back of the license, property of X government). Can foreign licenses be physically taken away?
    4. I will be banned in theory for the period of ban imposed but it will be impossible to check since Gardai do not have a database to check the ban (mobility app only works for Irish licenses).

I'm probably overthinking and I was told that I have a low chance of getting the ban but I need to explore my options in case it does happen.

you'll be banned from driving in Ireland. Your foreign license won't be affected.

Can he/she be banned if they don't hold an Irish Licence or would the ban apply to a 'virtual' licence and not come into effect until Irish one is applied for? Thoughts.....

I handed in my 6 counties licence when I moved back to Cork,it was seamless, ref ban AFAIK currently if you're licence is clean you get a clean Irish one ,but if endorsed in the future ( banned, convictions etc) that will go on your license and you will be stuck ,no way to dodge this,,,p.s. I lost some categories when I exchanged my licence,be aware, motorbike licence as they required doctors test etc and TBH I was strapped at the time, big mistake on my behalf.
PS I don't know if a non EU licence can be exchanged

I don't see it matters what license is or isn't held. The Courts say you are banned from driving, therefore you cannot legally drive in Ireland.

You can be banned from driving no matter which country issued your licence, because you are the one getting banned, not your driving licence.
You will hand in the foreign license when you exchange it and they will return it to the country that issued it, also they supposedly check with that country if your license is real.
