Is it just me?? I think it is in very bad taste.

    What are your thoughts.

Anyone think it is a good idea?

    To add more:
I think the nation needs some light entertainment. It is not THIS. As an example the bbc is launching Malory Towers early. I think that is a good idea.

People are dying. I don't see this being an appropriate topic on that basis.

Bad taste and too soon but then again it's RTE.

Agree 100%. Certain rte staff have to be kept on payroll.

Cue many people trying to get on tv for the sake of it. Also false sincerity from presenters.

Malory Towers, remember reading all those books as a very young child. Anything by Enid Blyton really.

If we did not had enough doom and gloom with Covid 19, now a Covid 19 fitness / weight loss programme. Jesus wept.

Gotta make sure Kathryn Thomas can get her RTE salary somehow!

    I just don't understand it.

    - I don't see it as proper topic for light entertainment.
    - I don't see Kathryn Thomas and Operations Transformation being the right vehicle for it if it is being broadcast as a serious helpful program

It just feels all so wrong and misjudged to me.

But yes, it is RTE afterall

Will a large funeral directors or coffin maker be sponsoring it? Possibly an opportunity for some product placement.

They have changed the name, which is a good move

It's a lazy commission by RTE, never miss a chance to give a Canteener more work

It's hard to get programming organised at short notice but they could have been more imaginative

A new name is definitely a good thing Skid. But I still think it's a bad idea

Listening to Kathryn Thomas talk to Ray Darcy about her new re-branded show, 'Operation Covid Nation', (in between them chatting about each other's kids) made me wince. The corona virus overload on RTE at the moment is nauseating.

RTE are obsessed with doom and gloom.

I often have a laugh at the differences between their offerings, VS the BBC, in terms of Tubridy VS Norton. Norton always having a laugh and fun. Tubridy, even if he was half the entertainer Norton is, always has guests that just got a cancer diagnosis, or whose mother died and fell on their newborn, or who has been made homeless.. always a negative, sorrowful affair.

Kathryn has had to close temporarily her business so shes at a loose end , the good old licence fee will keep her ticking over in the mean time. Who the fcuk thought up this show?

Let’s just hope nuclear war doesn’t break out in the near future, or we can look forward to Operation Radiation Nation.
“Jesus wept! What will they think of next? ‘The Great Famine: Ireland’s Thinnest Family’? ‘World War I: Dancing in the Trenches’?”

    Haha! :pac:

Isn't that pretty much everybody working in RTE?

Personally i hope they put the license fee up. I'd like to see how they could do this show better if they had a bigger budget. Perhaps they could even put a 5th set of cameras in someone else's house. We'll never know. :(

    :P
