I applied to the army reserves, I know there's an assessment day with fitness test, interview etc.

I'm looking to find out more information on how many hrs a week do you have to commit ? Is it possible to move up the ranks ? Is there any payment or is it completely voluntary.

    Thanks

Long retired individual so open to correction. It used to be 3 hours a week. Maybe two weekends shooting/exercise and one week in the summer or winter.

Yes and it is encouraged. after three star private you can apply for a potential NCO course.

Yes it is paid for the week training camps. You dont do it for the money, its more of a thank you than anything else.

Signore Fancypants here is a serving member of the PDF and would be a better source.
