Radiator Boosters any good?

    Hi folks,

We have 2 double attic rooms that are absolutely freezing in the winter and roasting in the summer.

I looked at the radiator booster on Amazon UK and there is a specific one called "Radfan Classic" which come in either a small or medium size. 4 star rating but reviews mixed and that company (Radfan) went bust last year.

There is another similar one called Radiator Booster and that same can be purchased from purchase.ie

Does anyone have any experience using them and do they really help warm the room? I checked a few reviews of the Radfan Radiator Booster and they were all negative although a lot of people were saying in the comments that reviewer should have checked temperature before and after using the device which did not seem to happen.

Any other ideas or clever ways of getting a very cold room warmer in the winter months? I'm looking at putting blinds on the velux attic windows too.

Insulation all round and ceiling, and double glazing is as good as you will get. Double rads if not in already.

There may be some small gain from these but likely so little that it will make no difference.

Insulation and air tightness would be money far better spent as they will save you money every single day afterwards.

It's most likely something wrong with the heating system circulation.
A sludged system. Poor heat supply from boiler. Wrong circulation pump or settings. Poorly balanced system. Radiators not properly sized for the area.

Are the radiators too hot to keep you hand on for more than a few seconds, all over?
