Qashqai central locking issue

    Hi All,
My wife drives a 2009 J10 Qashqai which has developed a locking issue with the front passenger door.
When the door is locked using the key fob, I can still open the door from the outside with the handle. The funny thing is, if I sit in the car and lock it, I can' t open it using the interior handle, so it is actually locking.
Has any come across this before and could point me in the right direction?
    Many thanks,
    Skuxx!

Can you hear the actuator working (is the lock making a noise)?
Maybe all it needs is a good old spray.
Remove door card and have a look at the mechanism while locking/unlocking.

Spray some suitable lube into lock and anywhere you can get it in... May help.

Did you try locking if door is actually open and listen? Also pull the handle and kepp it pulled out and press lock....

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the response. Ill pull the door card off, have a look and give it a shot of something.
Ill also try the locking with the door open/ handle pulled and report back!

Just an update, I tried all of the above today but I didn't make an progress.
I tried locking the door with the door open/ handle pulled but there was no difference.
Also gave a shot of oil in the general area of the mechanism.... Still have the same problem as before!

The central locking probably won't engage with door open, it must be closed.

Door open or door closed doesn't seem to make any difference and certainly hasn't fixed my issue!!

Our Qashqai door locking seems to have changed too. Though we're not having the issues you are having, that sounds weird! Our central locking used to open/lock all the doors at once, but now it only unlocks the driver door, then the passenger door with a second click, and the boot takes another. I'm sure you have, but have you tried clicking the lock/unlock on the key twice to lock/unlock the passenger door?

That sounds like a setting somewhere that got changed.
I've seen it on other brands before where it can be changed in the car. Try and look into that if it bothers you.
Check the manual or maybe someone here can tell you how to do it.

I had a 2009 Qashqai and I actually changed mine so that it worked like that. I think on that model you have to press both the lock and unlock buttons for 5 seconds and the hazards flash to let you know the mode has changed. Possibly someone did that by accident once and it got set without you knowing.
