Is the garda required to show you the speed recorded on the camera?

    Is the garda req to show you the speed recorded on the camera. If they dont and issue penalty points notice should it be contested

    They don't need to if they are using their new equipment. They don't even need to stop you.

    Certainly used to have to turn up to court, my wife got off because they didn’t show up, wife was told to say nothing and it was thrown out- should add that the Garda served the notice as it was old and we moved address, they said please phone the Garda station to tell them you will be going to court....

    They showed me the speed I was doing (70km in a 50km zone) - didnt realise I was that much in excess of limit in that zone (Rock Road)....certainly been more conscious of speed limit since (2.5 years ago).
