A few longer priced punts today

    Hesamanofhisword 1:40

Has been knocking on the door and running consistently well of late. Could sneak into a place

    Cappacino Man 2:40

Has form in the book to be competitive here if putting his best foot forward.

    Amaulino 3:10

Has only had one run over fences since winning this last year. Still improvement likely at only 7.

I am going outsiders also. Downpatrick definitely a specialist track and does not suit your average galloper. Front running types that like it up and down and around the bend.

2.10 Jimmy Two Times . Kasakh Noir
    2.40 Walking in Memphis
3.10 Cappacurry Zak , Space Cadet
3.40 The Trigger, this entire race looks like the greatest pin job I have seen a while, good luck with whatever ya fancy.

I would check out the ground visually after the first race. I am slightly skeptical about the Soft/soft Heavy in the paper. It is a drying day and whilst Downpatrick is a summer track I don't think it gets too deep around there either. I would be prepared to stick your neck out and give some runners ( especially spring winning types) the benefit of the doubt ground wise.

Thought Ballyadam was mighty impressive yesterday. Has a horse been shorter for two bumpers ever? What must this be doing at home...

They said ground too soft first time out so bodes well for Cheltenham, where i think he could be Ballymore bound.

    You know how this goes...

    Wow

I don't want to piss on any parades but Mikael D'Haguenet had a very similar profile to Envoi Allen. He was also unbeaten at the end of his novice hurdle career.

I remember they were quoting 5/1 about Mikael D'Haguenet winning the gold cup in 2 years after his novice season.

Some hurdlers just don't get it done over fences.

This time 2 years ago Al Boum Photo was an RSA faller and was due to run out at Punchestown with a Grade 1 at his mercy. He is now one of the most famous Gold Cup winners in history.

    See what happens.

French breds can show brilliance when they are young, but they are not bomb proof and are well able to spit the dummy when they get older.

Irish breds won 15 races at Cheltenham this year. The French won 11, Germany 1 and the Brits only bred 1 winner.

The same thing applies. There are a 1000 more bumpers and maidens to be had before next year. If he is any good great, but one bumper win at Downpatrick does not a superstar make.

I hope your keeping well Raj, tough times, lets hope everyone pulls through safely.

Just thought for Codd to say that was remarkable
Heard Jane Mangan talk the horse up too and in the CP colours lately, u can see why people are getting excited
This is a horse 80% of casual fans will still probably be unaware of

The mixed messages driving us all mad but keeping the head down and following protocols
Hope you are keeping well lad

What he said was this is the best horse to ever run around Downpatrick. Not the best horse he ever on. Or at least that's the quote I heard anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 823 ✭✭✭Kauto

If you wre backing Ballyadam after a DP bumper win with all the hype built into the price well then fair play to u.

The bumper he ran in Navan was rubbish and DP bumper was full of horses who will end up as dog feed.

Sometimes its what you see with the eyes. Sometimes it's bare form. I'll take a chance on what I seen, and all that potential that looks to be there.

In fairness he did actually say that he could be.

They would all say mass, every one of them.

I am gutted for big Tony. Tough station. Those free Gin and Tonics are lethal.
