All, of all bloody times to have a problem, about 4 days ago all lights stopped on the dash, battery dead today. New starter and alternator about a year ago....battery is only a year old. Was talking to a neighbour and he said that the lights on the dash could also control the alternator kicking in. So it may be a fuse issue, before I go messing with fuses anyone come across this before. Appreciate the help. Mac

If the battery is dead then that's where you need to start. Replace it with one that you know is good and see do your dash lights come back on. Just because the battery is a year old doesn't mean it's not fcuked. Should be under warranty.

Cheers, did that and tested battery...all 100%. No impact on dash lights.

If the battery is ok I would check your fuses and if not a fuse check for broken or frayed wires. You need to battery light coming on in the dash to keep that battery charged. Have you a way of checking the voltage output from the alternator?

It is unclear whether or not it is turning over with the key. Is the problem just the lights going out or is it that it won't start at all etc. Is there power in the battery?

Can you start it at the starter by shorting across the terminals (Just be careful it's not in gear....it's very dangerous to do this.......maybe have someone sit in the seat while you do it).

It wouldn't be good for the alternator to be running for long if that circuit is broken, but at least with one of those tractors, if you leave it on a bit of a hill, it should start with a bit of a run. Not ideal, but if you are stuck it could get you out of a hole
