Turntable & Speakers

Hello. At Christmas I received some vinyls as a gift and since haven't gotten round to getting myself a record player but with the way things are now I will likely have some extra spare time so I'm looking to get a move on it. My level of knowledge for turntables is zero, I know absolutely nothing. So I'm looking for something that would be easy to set up but with a good quality standard also.

I was looking at choosing between the two options linked below as they're both a decent price and well reviewed. I'm unsure for which to go with so could do with some guidance here.

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-10074-sony-pslx300-turntable-black-usb-turntable.aspx

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203832-audio-technica-lp60xusb-black-usb-turntable.aspx

Next up is speakers for said record player. Again I have no idea what to begin looking for here so am looking for complete guidance. I don't know what would be compatible so am looking for something I can just plug into the turntable with little set up hopefully. I don't even know how much a decent set of speakers would set me back. Would I get away with about €200?

    Thanks.

    Hi Correction.

    Thanks for the post.

In my opinion the LP60XUSB would be the one to go for between the two.

The issue here is that most turntables require an amplifier to connect up to which will also power the speakers.
That would rule the Sony x300 out.

The LP60XUSB has built in Bluetooth which will allow it to connect to a pair of Bluetooth speakers like the Tibo PLUS 3.1 priced at £179
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203548-tibo-plus-3-1-bluetooth-active-speakers-per-pair.aspx

There are also the Tibo PLUS 1.1 priced at £119
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203665-tibo-plus-1-1-bluetooth-active-speakers-per-pair.aspx

The next set up would be the Steljes NS3 coming in at £199
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203803-steljes-ns3-coal-black-bluetooth-active-speakers-per-pair.aspx

    Let me know your thoughts.

Hello Kenny, thank you for the detailed response.

You recommend I go with Bluetooth exclusively? Would it be more beneficial for me to get an amplifier also, or am I getting into complicated setup territory then? My concern with Bluetooth is sound quality and whether it has the capacity to replicate that classic vinyl sound. My concerns may well be misplaced so feel free to let me know if so.

    Thanks.

    Hi Correction.

You will always get a better sound using an amplifier over Bluetooth.

If you wanted to go for a separates setup then you can still use the LP60XUSB.

You could connect it to the likes of the Pioneer A10E priced at 189 Euro
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204409-pioneer-a10ae-black-stereo-amplifier.aspx

You could then use the Q Acoustics 3010 priced at 127 Euro
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-201174-q-acoustics-3010-graphite-matte-graphite-speaker-per-pair.aspx

You would also require a few meters of speaker cable to connect the speaker to the amp. Starting at 1.29 Euro per meter
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-900187-cambridge-audio-symphony-100-speaker-cable-per-metre.aspx

Let me know what you think.

    Hi Kenny,

After watching some videos and doing some reading about connecting speakers and a amp etc. I don't think it's beyond me so I think this is the way I will go. Can you do me up and order or do I need to order from the site? Thanks.

    Hi Correction.

The separates way is the way to go.

You can indeed order directly via our website or if you want to drop me over your contact number in a PM we can give you a little call.

    Hello Kenny,

I've been through the ordering process but am receiving the following error at payment stage.

Just checking that there isn't a problem on your end that you know of before I give the bank a call?

    Thanks.

    Hello Kenny,

Got the order through eventually. I don't know if this caused it but I made a new password on my account after being emailed a reset password and it worked on the first try after that but it may just be a coincidence.

Sending you the confirmation and order No. just incase it's of any help to you. As you can see I threw in a soundbar I'd been meaning to order too. Some good savings made by ordering in pound sterling.

Thank you for all the help Kenny.

Cheers for the order Correction :D

I should be able to get it dispatched today via DPD as I have all the items in stock here at the Belfast store.
