Hi, I am looking to trade in my car against a new skoda kodiak. There is one in my local dealers show room, a sport line model. However although the car in the showroom is badged as a sportline it is missing some of the spec in the skoda kodiak brochure eg sunroof, block covered wing mirrors, sports bumpers, headlight washers etc. The dealer had told me that the car Is the current model (as skoda is written in large letters on the back door). It is priced the same as a style spec model. The car looks well but the spec doesn’t add up- should I he concerned? Thanks in advance for any help

Someone probably ordered it and didn't tick the boxes and they're stuck with it now.

Lots are cancelling with the outbreak.

Does it have the Sportline flat bottom steering wheel and seats? It could well be a Style with a Sportline options pack that's cheaper than a full Sportline model.

    This is a Sportline model:

Yes it has the flat bottom steering wheel an bucket seats but not the sunroof, black wing mirrors / front grill surrounds that the year 2020 model has. I think it is possibly an end of line production car and the 2020 version has additional features. If this is the case does any know the retail price of a new 2018/2019 sportline spec? Thank you

    The correct spelling is Kodiaq.

Fine cars, good luck with it.

Quick update, I had a chat with the dealer and he told me that the kodiaq was actually an ambition spec with a “sports pack” which included half leather seats, upgraded alloys, led pack, heated front seats, tinted windows and reversing camera but it was badged as a sport line. Can they badge a car like that if it isn’t technically a sport line? Going by the price the dealer is asking for the car all these extras amount to approx €5100 which seems a bit high to me. Any thoughts? Tks

Have you a link to the vehicle? I will take a look see then.

What price is the dealer quoting you ?

I've been a Skoda buyer for many years.

Considering we are in the middle of a major recession worse than 2008, your in a position of power as a buyer and negotiate the best deal

How is it priced against a genuine Sportline? Just remember that come selling time you probably won't get anything back in resale value for all those extras. To a dealer it will just be an Ambition with extras that make it easier to sell so it makes little sense to pay Sportline money for it now when you won't get Sportline money for it when you sell it. Of course just like now they will look to sell it for more money because of the extras.

He’s quoting me €46000 on the road for the ambition with “sports pack”. The list price for standard ambition is €39500 approx plus delivery, metallic & other charges. The car is not listed on any website

I know the Sportline superb is technically an ambition with the Sportline pack, might be the same with the Kodiaq.

They may have changed the specs slightly from the website - it happens a bit.

Brand new Sportline here for 50k:
    https://www.carsireland.ie/detail.php?ad_id=2486179&r=s.php%3Fm%3D80%26o%3D2607%26r%3D2020%26pp%3D50%26g%3D0

It's 4k more expensive than the Ambition with the Sports Pack you are being offered but the car you are being offered is also 5.5k dearer than a standard Ambition. You certainly won't see much of that 5.5k back when you go to sell it on but would paying an extra 4k for a genuine Sportline make sense either? Would buying a standard Ambition and saving 5.5k make more sense or do you want the extras?

They can if their not questioned, and if they are they have a yarn to spin .

They are selling fuk all at the minute. I'd be looking for a good deal,or alternatively look at a demo ,but either way bargain hard.

Bargain hard and only buy it if you can afford it and are not going to be badly effected by all the events currently happening around the World with this Pandemic. I would not pay more than 41 or 42 k for it.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

recession will depreciate cars faster I can't see too many people buying cars for a while

Had briefly discussed this on the PCP thread but looking at a new Kodiaq. I was leaning towards the ambition.
After talking to a couple of dealers the recent vrt changes has had a major impact on the extras available. For example sunroof not available on the ambition and even on the style it pushes it in to a higher VRT category so adds considerable extra cost.
A lot to think about certainly!

The benefit with any pack being added is its cheaper. I've had several tech packs added to skoda and they offer upgrades for less. This offer provides no benefit it seems. Is the pack listed on the website or brochure?

Forgot to ask dealer, anyone know if you can get style without leather seats?
