Preload is currently up for Doom Eternal, though not for Doom 64.

Anybody know what the Bethesda launcher is like? You can buy the game for a lot cheaper on that platform as opposed to steam. There's gotta be a catch tho...anybody know?

Played the first level. Very short first impressions.

    Pros:
Gameplay is just as good as the previous game, possibly a bit more fluid. Time will tell but I can see it being better the more I get into it.
Bit of story line is nice. Not too much now though. Atmosphere is good.
    Audio still excellent.

    Cons:
The UI/menus. Jesus no, it looks like it's designed by/for kids.
The garish colors and general aesthetic. I much preferred the more modern/sci-fi gritty colouring/feel of the previous game. The graphics also just don't look as good so far. I've only seen the first level, but I really hope this improves/changes.
The two above make me think that this has been far more consolised, and I really hope this isn't the case.

Will get back into it on Saturday and see how it goes. Looking forward to it.

    First impressions .

Graphically nice but nothing outstanding , conscious effort on performance FPS are really solid on ultra / High .

Gameplay , as expected fast paced but you need a good understanding of the mechanics to play it well. Easy to pick up , hard to master .

Bit of a story but ultimately secondary to gameplay.

Overall happy enough so far but only about 2 hours in .

Only thing I can think of is missing out on the steam stuff like deep controller configuration, steam cloud saves (I assume bethesda has their own), community/forum, cards. For me personally I'd never buy it off of steam because I need Valve's Proton and they have zero competition for that feature.

Me too! Really liking it now. Playing it on nightmare so having to learn very fast, but damn, it was very difficult on the earlier levels and I die almost every time during a major battle. But having fun learning how to approach each battle and getting used to switching up weapons and mods for different scenarios.

Edit: didn't realise this is the PC forum, playing on PS4 but still great!

Finished it a couple of weeks ago. It was good but nowhere near as good as 2016.
