I bought a lamb feeder, one with the 2 buckets (element in water on bottom) and milk in top, tube going from bucket to teat in pen.

Do I need to clean/ washout the tube which carries the milk each day?

There’s one here and we wouldn’t do it only when we’d be giving it a clean out every so often and it does be grand

We have a cold feeder here and would only clean it once every 10 days or so.

BTW, do ye lads have to train the lambs on the auto feeder or do you just throw them in and let them figure it out?

I let them.miss a feed and then put them.into it....no hassle that way

Leave them skip a feed and then train them in. They catch on fairly quick.

With cleaning out the pipes, once a week would be enough. If you have a non-return valve om the pipe with those small ball bearings inside, open up the valve and give it a good wash.
