My guess would be the parents are social distancing themselves from their own kids and have been doing so for a very very long time.

Cherry Orchard area? I'm shocked ...

I feel sorry for the decent people who have to live alongside these scumbags.

Wouldn't it be great if a lockdown finally forced the justice system to deal with these scrotes?

No sob stories, no leniency. It would be one positive to emerge from this.

It's a pity we don't have social credits system like China... Ranking you in society based on how good a citizen you are. Then apply it when it comes to deciding who gets the ventilators in the hospital.

Super idea..have the staff available to train the youngsters before they get locked up in prison.
Very thoughtful of our government :)

    Urban dictionary:
School. A place where children are put because society doesn't want them, parents don't want them, and if you can manage a little education while they are there, thats a bonus on top of the babysitting.

Galway was almost off the radar for this stuff years back, Cork always had a few blackguards and gurriers but not the sort of nasty stuff that's happened there in recent times.

Do ye all know that the prisons are currently releasing prisoners to alleviate the over crowding thats rampant?

That’s people who have somehow managed to Be caught committing enough crimes In the first place to get an actual custodial scentence.

You won’t see people going to jail now for anything unless it very serious

The thing is no matter what they do, no matter how bad it gets, they will face virtually no consequences from anyone.

There's also no reward for not being a piece of garbage. I never got into the slightest lick of trouble growing up. Nobody ever gave a ****. If anything it distanced me from social opportunities.

There are those of us still young enough to remember when skangers didn’t exist. That sounds like a contradiction but they must be a few generations down the line already

    Same around the Dundalk area.
The troublesome teenagers who are thrown out of school are brought go-carting, foreign trips etc .
    The good teenagers get nothing.
    Topsy turvy land.

Any ideas on why Dublin/Irish Gangland is so volatile? Big UK cities, Liverpool and Manchester probably being most similar to Dublin in terms of population, size and culture have long standing underworlds but they are seemingly far more stable with nowhere near the amount of internecine murders over the last 15-20 years.

I wonder if it is time to start creating temporary prisons for the Traveller and other criminal gangs who are probably going to ramp up their terror and assault on normal society.

I do not care if we have to keep them in tents surrounded by the army.
While criminals should not be tolerated at any time, there should be a move to incarcerate these people when caught carrying out criminality during this challenging crisis time. These criminals do not care about the law-abiding members of society, which is the vast majority of us. Why should we have to put up with them?

There’s a different blend occurring now I see more and more of them emerging with each new passing spring. More boistorous; more rowdy more wayward.... the future’s brighter than its ever bn

Can we not adapt water cannons (assuming the army has them) to spray disinfectant over any congregating groups? They’ll not long be heading home if they all look like they’ve pissed themselves
