Question about Google Nest

    Howdy folks,

Hoping you can clear something up for me.

I have a combi boiler with two zones (upstairs and downstairs). Both zones currently have a wireless thermometer with a dial to set a target temp and also a boost button.

Am I correct in saying I would need a nest for both zones if I was to upgrade?

If so, is it possible to just get one nest for downstairs, and continue controlling upstairs with the old thermostat?

I can get one for €140 but the second one is €260, which I can't justify!

    Thanks.

I don't know if nest has heating and hotwater on one unit, but last Hive I installed had a heating and hotwater facility. I bypassed the living area thermostat (normal use for this) with the Hive thermostat and I used the hotwater part to control the (on/off only) sleeping zone (not what this was designed for but works a treat), leaving that thermostat in place.

Remotely (wireless app) then, you have control over the temp and on/off and schedules for the living area zone.
And remotely you have control over on/off and schedules of the other zone, but on that zone you leave the old thermostat in place to control the temperature there.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Good stuff. Can anyone confirm whether the above would also be possible with Nest?
