[Hotbird 12303 V Have TV reception but want to hear radio channels on same TP (FTA Spain National Radio )

Had to retune after RTVE left Astra 1, so I have the 24Horas & RTVE International in HD, but the radio channels give no signal warning?

    RTVE On Hotbird

You probably have good Spanish. I think the gist of this article and especially some of the comments is that some receivers cannot decode the audio from those radio channels. I get a No Audio/Video message on my satellite box. But the audio is fine on my usb receiver which is looped through from that box, and played through my computer. That is a TBS 5925 receiver.

    @dxhound2005 thanks for the link.
I have sound and vision on those 2 FTA HD TV channels, just the radio channels are giving "No Audio/Video message "
Well at least it's not just me.
I can listen on Internet, it's just not as convenient as having it on my favourites list of my sat remote.
thanks again I wasn't having any luck Googling for information.

Another way to listen is on Medium Wave. There are a lot of transmitters in Spain, and some of them are very good signals in Ireland. The band is 9 kHz channels starting at 531. 738 is one of the best. Won't work during the daytime.

Click on a frequency to see details of the transmitters.

@dxhound2005 Thanks for the list of MW channels. I like the quality of Sat radio reception. Also I avoid commercial channels with shouty advertising, and Spanish National is always a third choice, ( just a few hours at the weekend ) after BBC and some German channels.

I tried these radio stations on a couple of boxes that I have..
    Both seemed to work ok.
On a Technomate TM F3/5 box , and an Edision promo IP S2.

Stangely on the Edision I had to specifically choose "Radio" , rather than "All" , in the scanning Menu in the option for TV or Radio, before they would tune in
    at all.

( I'm passing the time while there's no football )

@Delta Lima: thanks for feedback. My box is TM5402HDCI Super SW V. M1 1.42 July 2014.
I don't have a way to search for just radio stations. I will contact Technomate and hope for a work around

@dxhound2005 or anybody else who would like to add.
    My Box is TM5402HDCI Super+ SW V. 1.42 July 2014

Trying to add and/or edit RADIO channels manually on Hotbird 12303 V 27500
If I try to add it asks for PCR PID , so where do I get this?
If I try to edit PIDs it asks for PPID value, so where do I get this for these radio channels
    RNE1, RNE3 and RNE5.
Been happily listening without having to educate myself in satellite lingo, but now I can't avoid .

It seems that TM stopped issuing new software updates in 2014, so you have the up to date. There are unofficial softwares called Patches, but very much to be used at the owners risk.

I tried editing the Audio ID's on my Dr HD receiver which uses similar software to the TM, but no success. As I said earlier the audio is OK on my other receiver. I would look to the broadcaster as the source of the problem, rather than our receivers. What did that Spanish link say about the issue?

@dxhound2005 - Well nobody gave any info on solving it,they suggest that the radio transmissions on Hotbird are in Dolby., they like to blame Telefonica for the mess, but it is actually subcontracted to a media transmission company called Overon . The box TM5402 gives good options for editing channel PID and offers 5 audio codecs , including 2 Dolby types, have tried them all but still no music

It is a broadcaster issue, since I never came across it on any other radio stations. The link now has an option for English, so I was able to read the details.

The newest comment is on 11 March, the day you started the thread. It might be worth keeping any eye on it to see if there are any developments.

Something I didn't mention before. There was a burst of audio on one of the stations on March 11, just about a second, and never repeated. I don't know what that could mean.

All tuning info is avail;able on lyngsat hotbirdchannel list

There is more info available on King of sat for Asta 2 than for Hotbird
If you notice therre is a value for PCR and this is the value that comes up on my TV when I open the Channel Info pannel and is the value for PPID in the dialog box. But this value is not available in the same way when I check the listings of my Hotbird Radio channels

Get yourself an enigma 2 receiver. Working fine on both my VU+ and xtrend et8500 running openvix.

Have ordered a new box if I remember correctly it is zGemma H9S hope I know how to plug it in, but then with things they they are and some internet I hope to find the on switch.

@UrbanFret: P.S. They're far more parameters for each sat channel than the main listings sites give; is it a case that if your box can't figure it out, you can't get at the info needed. In my case there with the RNE radio channels on Hotbird I get a fine strong signal level and quality indicator (Dish 120cm ) BUT no sweet lisps;)
Maybe with my current box TM5402 I could alter some channel parameters if I had the full parameters?

The radio stations have sound now with me. Could be from a while back because I had forgotten about this thread.
