    Hi folks,
Just looking for some advice. My btw scheme is renewable and I've been looking around at some of the products on offer. I've come across a Van Rysel brand which are alloy built with Shimano Ultegra 8000 groupset and mavic wheels ranging in price from approx €1100 to €1400 in price depending on the various differing models in Decathlon.

My current bike which has served me well is now almost 7 years old and is probably better off retired. I'm currently on a Sora groupset and have been looking around and I' m prepared to pay inclusive of btw 1600/1700 euros.
Would the above brand and groupset be value for money? I'm not into racing but do take part in leisure cycles etc upto 120/150 km so any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks.

When is Decathlon due to open here? You could probably have a look at them.

GCN had a piece on the Decathlon bikes last week. They were using a Triban which according to the website is 850 with discs and a 105 groupset. Seriously tempted.

Think those have always been regarded as very good value for money. The Van Rysel seem to be the next model up and beyond. 1400 for a new bike with full Ultegra groupset is good by any stretch. Can't comment on the wheels as I'm not familiar with those ones or whether the geometry of the bike might suit you or not , looks more racey than I'd like if it's the same one we are looking at. EDIT: I was looking at the wrong one

Those van Rysel bikes have all just had their prices cut in France this week at least (105 alu is 900€, Ultegra with Mavic Cosmic wheels down to 1250€)

They seem almost identical to the old B'Twins which were around for a while and always well reviewed. Not a lot else in the same price range, maybe Canyon

Decathlon bikes always feature in the road.cc Best Buy reports. For the price they can’t be touched from what I can work out.

Cracking bikes and because of Decathlon's buying power very good value as a package. They're generally the higher end of the Decathlon range and were a rebadging exercise about a year ago.

I spotted it at an advanced stage of construction the other week, but hadn't remembered if they had a sign with an opening date.
I go to the frequently in France, so looking forward to having one here.
