Positive or Negative Head pump

I have a storage tank above a hot water cylinder setup in my apartment with a booster pump on the bathroom wall for the shower. There is no pressure in the bathroom taps and the toilet takes a long time to fill. Considering getting a booster pump for the property, probably Salamander.

Looking at the setup in the picture would appreciate if somebody could tell me if I need a Positive or Negative head pump? My intention would be to fit the booster pump on the floor beside the cylinder.

    Appreciate your thoughts...

Depends on the type of shower you have.

It is a shower above the bath which is fed from the bath mixer tap. My plan is to get rid of the Triton T90 shower pump.

Triton T90sr has a built in pump. You can't connect this to another pump.

If you want to install a pump & have an electric shower, then something like the Triton T80z would be ideal.

    Thanks for the responses.

My hope is to fit a booster pump like the Salamander CT50+ beside the hot water cylinder and use it to boost the hot and cold (non potable) supply to the entire property. The shower pump would no longer be necessary.

The Salamander CT50+ is a positive head pump which means that it required a certain amount of pressure on the feed to start the pump when water is drawn off. The cold water tank in this installation is just above the hot water cylinder so there is not a lot of water pressure from gravity (head).

Does anybody know if the pressure from gravity in this type of installation is enough to start a positive head pump when water is drawn off?

    Appreciate your feedback...

Sorry, my mistake. It is a T40i shower booster pump.

You would need a positive head pump.
