I seem to keep coming back to these. Might need a bigger car than wife's fiesta. Have heard tales of the 1.4 petrol but has anyone got the 1.3 diesel version in their cars?
Ford c max looks ideal but it's size is off putting.
Seem that engine is widely used.
    Thanks

There are better cars out there. 1.3 diesel is a Fiat engine, it's a bit gutless and can suffer from turbo, head gasket failure, etc.

A Kia Ceed might be worth looking at if you want something similar in size to an Astra. Skoda Octavia would be bigger again without going MPV route.

She bought a beautiful i30 and only had it 6 weeks and went back to a fiesta again!!!!

Maybe I should just give up.

Would a Fusion do the job? It's a little bit bigger and taller than a Fiesta but it's basically a Fiesta underneath all that. Or maybe a B-Max if she is looking for something newer. It's smaller than the C-Max and still based on the last generation Fiesta.

Those Astras are unnecessarily heavy. They’re not that nice inside either.
As above, plenty better cars out there.

You’re looking for a car for a long time :)

Did she go back to the Fiesta for any reason like size etc?

Many thanks for replies. Yes colm we are well I am I suppose
I had a fusion which was higher but she didn't like. As previously posted she has mobility issues which means a bulky frame to get around. My 2010 focus hatch slopes down to sharply for it to stand upright. Also will need an option of a swivel seat in the not to distant future. Maybe a skids roomster might be worth putting into the hat. We usually have 2 child seats as well.budget 4 grand max

Saw a clip estate that looks like it could work but I think they have an akward spare wheel set up. The hatch has at least . Done deal has a few Ibiza estate s with 1.2 diesel. Any thoughts. Her driving is mostly short journeys but often . Her previous car was an 05 fiesta 1.4 d

    Have you tried a CMax?

I wouldn’t be put off by something like a spare wheel. Get roadside assistance.

Son has a c max..must ask herself to drive it. Even with roadside assistance the repair man might have trouble tasking it down as we need the boot space for the frame so cant leave spare wheel in boot.

Roadside assistance won’t have any problem whatsoever with it.

They don't come with a spare wheel. I know because the Dad had a C-Max titanium. They only come with a repair kit hence why you need roadside assistance.

    Peace and long life.

Even the Grand CMax can take a spare wheel under the seats.

Hated that model Astra. Was too stodgy and a so so interior. Wouldn't be great for someone with mobility issues. If the budget can stretch the model from 2016 on is a much better car in every way.

The spare wheel was an option on the CMax when buying new.

Had a 2006 astra 1.3 diesel. Everything that could possibly go wrong in a car, went wrong, and then when you would fix 1 thing, something else would come up. Had it with an unlimited warranty, luckily, but in the 4 months before i got the garage to buy back off me, i had it maybe half the time, rest was in a garage.
