Have one of our best cows who had a C section in September. Has come in heat and been bulled/ AI'd 5 times but always come in again. Any advise appreciated on improving her chances of keeping.
First section we have had in 10 years.

Can’t think of the name of it right now but there is an injection u can give on day of serve and again on day 11 , has worked for me twice . It’s to help them hold the serve

There's probably some infection/problem there after the section. She'd need to be scanned or handled by a vet to find out what's wrong but that's more money and no guarantee she'll come good.
She'd be gone at this stage if she was mine especially with the price of culls in the marts and replace her.

I used Receptal in the exact same circumstances- cow wouldn't go incalf again after a section. Ended up with a second section as she was gone mud fat from too long trying to get her incalf so she was dried off early & just had a stupidly long holiday to pile on the lbs.

    Good calf though :pac:

Could be worth getting her wasted out Incase of infection and give Receptal on next heat

Had a c-section on a 2 year old heifer a few years back - she had c-section again the following year - absolutely no contractions. Her daughter, the very same last year, no contractions, needed a c-section also. Both now departed, culled.

If she has been bulled 5 times washing out probably isn’t much help at this stage
