    Hi All,

quite lost with where to of next for home heating in our house, hoping somebody can give me a little advice.....

Our Stanley Range has given up the ghost, probably more of it than expected so I knew it was coming with a little while, I'm gonna replace it with an electric cooker but I need to plan for a boiler as the house is freezing!

Our current set up goes something like this :

The Stanley was an Oil burner that we used for Oven, hob, radiators and hot water, this was heating an old tank in a hotpress until 5 or 6 years back we installed some solar panels and upgraded our storage tank to a Grant DuoWave and moved it to the basement.
We integrated the Stanley output into this tank to heat the water outside the summer months.

I dont fully understand the upgrades our plumber did in the basement, but I believe the coil for the solar is in the bottom of the tank, and the coil from the stove is in the top of the tank.
Outside if the large tank, there is 2 smaller tanks maybe 10 or 15 litres each, one looks like its connected to the big tank, the other appears to have only 1 input or output.

So, my main question is what should I be looking at to replace the Stove with?

    - I've heard the Grant Vortex Combi boiler is very good, but I dont know can I integrate that with my current tank set up?

    - Do I even need a Combi set up or would single boiler do as I already have these smaller tanks available?

    - Where the stove is, will it be as straight forward as just "shorting the inputs/outputs where the stove was to continue the system?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Update,

I've now realized I don't need the combi as we already have a tank in the basement, so I think we'll go with a regular boiler for the rads and water, hopefully these can be controlled so I'm not hearing both unnecessarily.

Hoping too we can still utilize the solar in the summer for the water, and top it up as needs be with the boiler!
