Hope so! I'm sure they won't want to lose a sale over it!

You don’t get to keep the old logbook when you change address though.

OP is there any chance the logbook you have is the most recent one?

Log onto www.motortax.ie and use the last 6 digits of the serial number of the cert (top right) as the pin. If it lets you log in then that’s the up to date cert.

unless you declare a the logbook lost and change the address at the same time, if that is possible?

cheers i'll try that at lunch - will that work even though i've updated the pin and taxed several times?

    tks

If you’ve changed the pin then probably not.

Do you remember changing address and getting a new certificate?

Yeah i changed the address the tax letters etc come to my house (and the penalty points!!) but i don't remember receiving a cert.

The pin worked so i'll chance my arm.

    Thanks for your help!

Did you only change it on motortax.ie?

    That doesn’t count.

If the serial number on the cert worked, that’s your up to date cert.

I’d hand in that log book to the dealer. If there’s an issue further along the line, they’ll get in touch.
