Hoping someone can give advice please but possibly to late by now.
After some reasonable success with growing potatoes last year my daughter has her communion in May and wants to grow some strawberries for it.
I have read a newspaper article (Diarmuid Gavin) about "cold store runners" but can't find them for sale anywhere online, mind you I havent made it to a B&M shop yet to ask! There might be another name for them?
If you haven't got a crop growing now, you could buy cold store runners which are ready to be planted and should bear fruit within 60 days.
