Oil in coolant

    Hi guys,
    Couple of days ago I have bought 2009, 2.2 I-DTEC accord.
    What i have found this morning that there was some grey sludge under the coolant expansion tank cap. It looks that coolant has some oil to (not sure).
    There is no sludge under oil cap and exhaust smokes are not white.
    Do you think head gasket is blown?

    Oil in the coolant is often related to the oil cooler rather than head gasket. It would be the first thing to check. Might be worth flushing the system and putting clean fluid in and check if the sludge returns.

    That sludge can also be buildup from the cold and short journeys, it doesn't have to be bad.
    Do you have the correct amount of coolant left in the car?

    Those engines aren't highly regarded. Lots of issues.

    May not be worth fixing.
    Even if it is just the oil cooler which could be fixed, the coolant has now ran through all the bearings. Those bearings could now potentially be damaged so the reliability of the whole engine is now in doubt. You could never trust it again.
    It may last another 200,000km, or it might not make it out the gate.

    Unless every bearing is replaced in that engine as well as the source of the leak, I would not trust that engine any more. Obviously, that would be ridiculously expensive for a 2009 car.

    I would say try one of those rad-stop type sealers and just drive it on and see how long it lasts and then scrap it.

    The oil cooler on the N22B1 is on the side of the oil filter case, its a very simple square cooler.
    I don't think that is likely to be the issue here, they are not a common failure in these engines.
    The N22B series are quite reliable they sorted the chain guide issues from the N22A engines and they give few problems apart from the usual DPF issues.

    I would get a exhaust gas sniffer test done on the coolant (Blue) and see what comes back from that.
    If it was run low on coolant then there must have been a leak somewhere in the system to get it to overheat and warp the head.
