An unexpected accident has rendered the screen on my Pocophone F1 completely broken. All of my files were stored on the internal storage of the phone. As the screen is broken, I cannot select the option on the phone to allow USB access.

Any ideas on next steps? I have tried MobiSaver for example, but cannot allow access via the phone.

if you're locked out then there is not much you can do I believe as you can't grant mtp file access with a broken screen as you say.

I think that someone got a pocophone screen replaced in one of the chinese shops on the north quays near O'Connell bridge for €50 or so, so that is a reasonable solution.

There is a cable you can get that has dual inputs for a usb and HDMI so you can connect to a mouse and to a monitor , then do what you need that way.

    that won't work.

the pocophone has no mhl output.

Non stop ghost touching would prevent any use of a mouse.

I've looked at ADB etc also at this point and I've had no luck. I'm opting for a repair at this point...

I can't post links, but you can get micro usb to female usb adaptors, so you can plug in a mouse and click through what's on the screen.....

you would have to unlock the phone, pull down a menu and select mtp access or find that in settings (again after unlocking phone).

    not a hope.

    needle in a haystack X 100.

that's assuming no ghost touching from the screen being smashed.

good adb thread here if you have usb debugging on and a standard security passcode.

From what I've looked at, it's not an option since I didn't have it enabled. Very valuable lesson learned!

I guess everyone has to learn the hard way that anything of any importance should be backed up on the cloud.

Best of luck getting it sorted.

That's bonkers. I wouldn't trust the cloud with all my photos.
Should I be heading for the conspiracy theories forum now?

Check www.drive.google.com and www.photos.google.com to see if you have anything saved there.

@effects - the ordinary person might rely on Google/Apple minding their photos. Especially if they are taken via their phone. I doubt most would back up to their laptop or a physical drive.

NEVER store photos in the cloud, you don't know who can access them. Anyone running the servers would have a master pass to everyone's account for the purpose of updates and maintenance. A lot of these individuals are logging in from different parts of the world because they are contracted by whoever the cloud company is.
