What to do with savings

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has any advise on what I should do with my savings. I'm at a point where I'm not considering buying property and I have about 20K in my account and I hate to see it just sitting there doing nothing.

I don't mind an element of risk on some of it, but I'm not in a position where I can comfortably write off 20K either.

10 year state savings? Prize bonds? I would love to hear peoples suggestions.

What is your pension situation?

Are you planning on buying in 5 or 10 years? Do you intend on making any significant purchases in the next 5-10 years?

Do you have any outstanding debt?

Statebonds are a low risk way of saving money. If you wanted more risk you could invest in an EFT for 10 years. However you need to understand what you paying, and more importantly the tax implications, before you buy.
