    Hi there
There has been a lot of talk of illnesses in an estate in Loughrea being diagnosed as a specific bacteria found in water. Independent testing undertaken by the householder, who had been advised the the water was drinkable, shows that the water is not fit for human consumption.
Naturally as a parent of young children I am anxious about water quality - how do we know if:
    A) the water is safe given this household were told it was and both hospital testing of the ill child and independent lab testing of their water showed bacteria.
    B) if this bacteria is present in all loughrea water supply (or isn’t) is IW going to confirm either way.
    C) if the water is not fit for consumption can it be drunk after boiling or should we be purchasing water - for our young kids specifically.
I understand these issues can take time to work through but We, and a number of our friends, share these concerns so we would appreciate an update as soon as possible.
    Thank you.
