Had an issue this morning with the wife's Peugeot. It cranked slowly, but wouldn't start. Tried jumping it with my jump box and with a pair of leads but it kept getting worse. Drove from Athlone to Longford to get a new battery(this of course happens on a sunday) fitted the new battery and now it will crank over once, slowly, then the displays cut out, hear some clicking from the access panel in the glove box and the language resets to French and the top display says something about economy mode actif, the wipers start going crazy and if I try to lock the door with the fob they lock and instantly unlock. Not new to turning a wrench by any means...it's this computer nonsense that gets me. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I am new to this forum, can't post picture or links yet.

Slow cranking etc implies a poor circuit. Check line from battery to starter. And earth from engine to body and body to negative on battery.

    Likely corrosion somewhere .

Nothing to do with mysterious computers I'd say
