Options for replacement 5.1 audio

Since about 2006 (major house renovations) we have a Yamaha RX V4600 on the family TV connected to B&W M1 speakers and a B&W sub. It runs as a 5.1 system (but I believe has 7.1 capability)  as the default sound output for the TV ( a 55" LG OLED from yourself). It's located in a large interlinked living/ dining / kitchen area.
Even technophobe spouse will not tolerate the default TV audio.

I recall it was not inexpensive at the time, and the sound cant be faulted, but it has some disadvantages.
It's not family friendly, no bluetooth or internet radio connectivity.
It has the capability to drive an extra set of speakers + speaker set B, so we had ceiling speakers installed in adjoining kitchen/ living room. However the convolutions required to get these working result this function was never used. It is not used for video processing. Audio out from the TV is simply connected to the Yamaha. It's now often netflix / amazon.
    So the want is
    • 5.1 audio processor, decent sound quality
    • preferably ability to drive remote 2 x speaker channels
    • video processing not necessary, but probably unavoidable
    • a long shot, but smart integration with LG TV would be great :-)
    • bluetooth connectivity / internet radio / amazon speaker integration might be interesting
    • Reasonably straightforward operation!!

Or another option might be to separate the functions: a straightforward 5.1 system and a auxiliary small amp to drive the ceiling speakers when required?
    [*]
    What options?
    Thanks

    Hi fortyplus

Something like the Denon AVRX2600 would tick most of the boxes https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204145-denon-avrx2600-black-atmos-av-receiver.aspx

It is 5.1 and offers excellent sound quality

It has a second zone which you can use for the speakers in your kitchen.

while it wont have smart integration with your tv, if you have it connected to the audio return channel hdmi on the tv, when you switch the tv on the amp will come on, turn the volume up with the tv remote the volume on the amp goes up, turn the tv off the amp turns off.

It has bluetooth, internet radio, wifi, Airplay2 and voice control via Alexa, Siri and google assistant.

The unit in my opinion is pretty straight forward to use.

It you wanted a totally separate system in the kitchen you could go for the likes of the Yamaha crxn470 https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202264-yamaha-crxn470d-black-streaming-mini-system-exc-speakers.aspx
