Direct trainer

Hi ....

I bought a tacx vortex in September after a few years of using a cheap manual resistance turbo ...

I haven't really used the smart part at all , I prefer to use it while watching football or just Netflix....

I've decided I would rather a quieter trainer and I'm going to sell vortex for 170 ....

My question is what would be best direct trainer that would be fairly quiet. I was looking at maybe a tacx flux but they are fairly costly and I'm prob not going to use the smart function much if any ....

Any recommendations??

Not really a smart turbo though is it?... the likes of Zwift won’t change the resistance on it as the gradient changes. I’m sure it’s good quality but not “smart”.

That trainer can be used with Zwift and in any case he did say he's "not going to use the smart function much, if any"

Fair enough. Don't use Zwift myself so know nothing about it really but I don't think the OP is overly concerned with Zwift either
It's a very very quiet trainer. Have it myself. Super quality trainer for that money.

Ah your dead right, I see the OP not too interested in the smart bit. I just saw the link u posted and “smart” was in the title so was just pointing that out to OP as it’s a bit misleading.

You won't get bettet for your money. I've the standard one 4 years used with a power meter & it hasn't missed a beat.
If its non smart use & "direct drive you want this trainer is it.
