If you were in an accident and the car you own is not road worthy can the insurance company charge you a daily rate for a replacement. Is this the norm?

If the car you own was a write off do insurance companies charge a daily fee for a replacement temp car?

Yes. Unless replacement car is included in your policy. So check that.

A lot of policies have a period where they will pay for a replacement car, but after that it's at your cost. It's normally just a few days.
