    Hi folks.
Need to get a second hand heater control panel fitted to a b8 a4. Part is component protected.

Anyone know anywhere around the midlands that can reprogram the unit?
    Thanks

Component protection I believe needs a live factory connection to program so it's only a licenced / approved repairer that can do it.
Friendly main dealer shouldn't charge a lot although some of them refuse to work with used parts.

The other option is to see if your own one could be repaired with bits from the new one defeating the component protection crap.

I'm fitting heated seats. Controls are part of the panel so can't use my old one. I did open it up just incase the button was on the inner workings but just a blank on the outside but unfortunately not.

Ah ok. I'd call an approved service centre and ask nicely.
