    Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is free on-street parking near the 3Arena?
We might be heading to a gig there tomorrow evening, approaching from the M1 and arriving at approx. 8pm.
Have heard that New Wapping Street and Sheriff Street Upper have free on-street parking - can anyone confirm?
    Thanks in advance!

Park on Cambridge Road and walk across the bridge.

Never any crowds over there after gigs either.

Upper Sheriff Street is free after 7, however it'll basically be full at about 7:05 if its a popular gig because most regular attendees know that.

There are a tiny number of free all day spaces on Sheriff Street, Mayor Street and North Wall Avenue that might free up about 5/5:30 but its unlikely.

Upper has been safe for over a decade. Lower, on the other hand...

You should note that traffic around there can be an absolute nightmare. Especially if it clashes with rush-hour.

In terms of parking, you are on the border of the IFSC (safe, but no on-street parking, but plenty of multi-storey car parks) and residential areas with limited parking, and not exactly the "snobby" part of town. Drive to the 3 Arena and park there at your own risk.

Seriously, assuming you are talking about any time close to rush hour, I would suggest looking to park outside the city and getting the dart/luas in, then luas/walk to the arena.

There is a road behind the 3arena (R101), as you come down into the car park that is very long and always has parking. all parking will be free at 8pm, if you cant get parking there, Sheriff street is close by.

The LUAS finishes up at 7.30 pm on Fridays, so parking is available on the tracks until 05.30 am.

Is this an official thing or just something people 'do'?

Imagine your battery was flat when you came back to it

    They're taking the piss.

    Or they're insane.

It doesn't finish until about 1am, and you'll still be towed off the tracks if seen parking there after that.

Mod note: This would get better info in the Dublin City forum. Hold on tight until I move it over.

New forum, new rules so no more parking on the LUAS lines:P
