Spluttering and lower mpg

Had my megane (2010 1.5dci) for close on 3yrs

Over the last few months I've noticed it's spluttering a bit while idle and the mpg has gone down from approx 55mpg to around 47mpg

Had a word with my garage and he didn't look at it, said that its probably the fuel injectors and only certain places do this.

Does this sound right and am I looking at an expensive job?

Has it been serviced right, fuel filter done?

    What mileage

Injectors could be an issue alright

    Will do.

Will this issue affect emissions for an NCT?

Very low km for a diesel, how's it driven?

Luckily you don't have to worry about a dpf as it doesn't have one.

    Egr could be clogged.

Unless there's thick black smoke and soot coming out of it no, diesel emissions are not measured during NCT.

Yeah, it is low, genuine mileage too. Drives perfect

Lol, not tested, wouldn't have known. No smoke at all so that can only be good

Yes but this is a bit of an issue, it's not getting driven as a diesel needs to be.
