Hi there, just thinking about the legality of things after the sale of a vehicle with regards while waiting for the VLC form to come back to the new owner. For instance,if the new owner was driving it and committed an offence, i.e speeding, parking fine, etc. Since it's still registered to me, I will get the fine.

Can you contact Shannon for instance to inform them,or do just have to quake in your boots and hope the vehicle is not driven in the meantime?

The date of sale is put on the VLC. So unless they get a speeding fine on the same day (which still won't matter because when you query it they'll just check the full picture and see who was driving ) then it won't come near you anyway.

If a toll of anything comes in straight away you just tell them you sold it and they'll go back to Shannon.

I used to write the time beside the date, just in case. Never had an issue though
